I get lots of phone calls at my clinic from women asking me “am I too old to have a baby?”
Is there a right age to have a baby? I’m not sure there is, but if you are trying and you are older it can be harder.
Toxin and be a major factor in not being able to conceive, if you are older 40+ you have had more time to fill your body with harmful toxins, but the good news is, you can do a lot about it by detoxifying and eating an organic based diet.
Follow my 8 natural steps to detoxing your body and kick starting your fertility into action –
1 Healthy Foods – Eat a diet rich in vegetables especially green veg, fruit blueberries, strawberries, nut and seed, organic meat, oily fish, herbs, spices. Cut out sugar, processed foods, and caffeine.
2 Castor Oil Pack – This is my number one, an ancient remedy to help your reproductive system. The castor oil pack is used in the first two weeks of your cycle when you are trying for a baby, not in the last two weeks.
Buy a good quality castor oil soak a small wool cloth with castor oil and place it on your abdomen place a towel then add heat leave it on for thirty minutes. Let the castor oil healing powers repair and detox you.
3 Fertility massage – As important as the castor oil pack, the fertility massage improve circulation, increases blood supply to the ovaries and uterus, help break up any adhesions. Also, get rid of any unwanted toxins.
Place your hands on your abdomen and sweep them around in a clockwise direction ten times, then focus on your ovaries do some clockwise circles around the ovaries. Do the fertility massage when your period has stopped up till ovulation.
4 Have a bath – Bath are so underrated showers have taken over, but if you add sea salt or Epson salts ¼ of a cup into your bath with some essential oils (10 drops) of lavender, or rosemary, or lemon balm, they will all help aid digestion, anxiety, stress also improve your sleep.
5 Fertility Yoga - is amazing to improve your reproductive health. Yoga helps improve the endocrine system this has a knock on effect on balancing your vital fertility hormones.
Some more reason for fertility yoga - increases blood to your reproductive organs, helps reduce stress, encourages a positive mindset, also may increase your libido.
6 Meditation and Visualisation – Do something that we never allow ourselves time to do take time out and sit down shocking I know. But it is very important for your fertile health and your general well-being. When you meditate it helps you relax switches off your mind. Meditation can bring up different emotions, listen to them, these emotions could be causing a block on your physical fertile health and or mental-emotional health, stress.
Visualization is brilliant for focusing on what you want to come into your life, a beautiful baby.
7 Exfoliate and or body brush – you can make your own exfoliating scrub using salt and coconut oil mixed together. Give each limp a good rub for about 12 seconds each, then have a shower or bath after, your skin feels so soft after you exfoliate. You do the same with a body brush, brush each limb for about 12 seconds in the circular movement towards your heart.
Why exfoliate? Help increase circulation, gets rid dead skin, moves the lymph gland into actions, motivates the liver especially if you exfoliate down the liver channel.
